when the world reaches in.

our home is our haven. our little corner, where all is as it should be. safe. loving. honest. when our kids were smaller, and they would argue with each other, we would remind them… these four walls are where you are safe from the world… and sometimes family is all you have… so take care to remember their feelings. and somehow, life just slipped back into peace… and all was well, once again. home. where your heart lives.

but, last night the world came ‘round.

i locked the doors… latched the windows, and pulled the shades… trying to keep the ugliness out… and maintain the peace that resides within. we should have shut off the television… and pulled the plug on the computer. but we didn’t. because we needed to know. we needed to know what people were saying… about my husband… and the incident at work. the small story that has been embellished and sensationalized. but we needed to know. not just to satisfy our curiosity… but so that we could prepare. prepare our hearts for battle… prepare our children for what might come along. because it is our job… to keep them safe… even if it is just safe from other people’s words and thoughts. is it fair that they might be asked to defend a moment that doesn’t even belong to them? no. but they would do it willingly if called up. it hurts… when the world reaches into your home and stirs up ugliness. why would people lie? why would someone do that? why?

our home is our haven. our little corner of the world, where we can crawl under the covers and hide… where we can come together with conversations about truth and the media… where we can simply hold on until the tidal wave has passed. because tomorrow there will be another story… about something equally unimportant… and our little life will be waiting… right where we left it.

I hope the wave passes quickly.

You will always have your haven. No one can disrupt that. "Why do people lie?" because it sells newspapers, It makes news....it is something to talk about.
Everyone that knows your family, knows the truth. Really, that is the most important thing of all. Eric has a lot of support. He would never intend to inflict harm.
I told you, I will write a letter....
And I won't add in about him stealing my silverware **smile**
I waiting for the CCSO to comment and give the other side of this story...but it will pass. Just like everything else, it will pass.
**hugs**

Dawn...I just sat down to read the paper..immediately I knew I needed to send you a note (even if you hadn't written about it)...just to let you know that I am thinking about you and praying for you and your family. I understand the position that you are in, and I completely feel for you. I have had glimpses of it myself (husband has been doing this 20 years now), and it's unnerving....people who don't know you and don't know the whole story making judgments. Don't know what else to say..just know that "this too shall pass."

I am sending good thoughts, prayers and hugs your way! Sorry to hear of your distress and hope that your home gives you comfort. Our family was a victim of a criminal ex-employee who tried many sabotaging tactics - but we have prevailed. you will too. Good people do finish first.

I am sorry you are going through what seems to be a public heartache. My prayers are with your family-and believe it or not-we went through something similar-and I know about the pain of someones lies that can damage your family. Draw closer to each other, and pray together-that is how my husband and I made it through a very difficult year. And the blessing was-we became so much more. Looking back-I am glad we went through it, but during the trial, we thought we would die of heart break.
Blessings to you today!

So sorry Dawn. I can only say that God has a lesson here for someone. I know you hold Him near and dear to your life; I'm sure He will be there for you and your family. Prayers going up for you during this trying time.

it sounds like your husband + i, along with our families are experiencing quite similar events lately. lies are usually exposed + liars will have to pay their dues someday, but unfortunately we have to pay the price for them in this moment. hang in there, this too shall pass. hugs + prayers.

Dear Dawn,It seems that many of God's own go through some horrid circumstances. The devil is the father of lies and will do what ever he can to try to hurt Christians.Just remember,he looses in the end, and you will come out of whatever trials you face in victory. While you're in the fire the pain sometimes feels endless, but it too shall pass...My husband always tells me not to try to figure out why someone would lie or try to hurt us--because we can't think like a psycho or whatever it is they are. Public servants are often subjects of abuse by the media & others because they are in plain sight. Keep your chin up & keep your eyes on Him. We'll keep you guys in prayer.
