breathe

The air around me is laced with sweetness... the fragrance of orange blossoms dances in the air. I breathe in and savor the moment. It is part of why I love to live here... in Florida. The groves are miles away... but the scent has travelled on a breeze... come to me at my window... reassuring me that this dark season of lent will soon be covered in sweetness and light.

My aunt and uncle spend all winter in Ft. Myers and they are always sending us beautiful citrus when they find it. Also, Andy's boss owns an organic grove down there somewhere - so we get lots from him, too. Yummy.

Such lovely words! Very picturesque speech.
The citrus is thick in the air in Phoenix as well. Not as much as it was 35 years ago as many groves have turned into housing developments. They call it progress. I call it sad.

One of my favorite times of the year at Corkscrew...the smell of sweet oranges all day long! Made walking all over that big campus so much more pleasant!
