d is for...

Dawn.
Not to make myself seem important, but it is my blog...
D is for... Dawn.
I never really liked my name when I was little... it was so different... no one had my same name. And now? I love my name... it is kind of different... and not many people have my same name. I have learned... it is good to be your own person...really good. Because pretending you are something you are not is hard work... and not very much fun. Sometimes it is even hard to be the person you really are... when others have their own perception of who you are.
In case you were wondering... here are a few very true things about me:

I still get butterflies in my stomach when I see my husband come into the room.
Reading is one of my favorite ways to procrastinate.
I don't worry about the big stuff... I really try to leave it in God's hands.
Dessert is my specialty.
There are days when I feel so uninspired to write... and then the next day my mind will be overflowing and jumbled.
My scrapbooking is suffering due to my blog.
I do not handle disappointment well... it makes me so sad, and then it takes a while for me to recover.
When my husband lets me cut his hair with the clippers, I just laugh... and laugh... and laugh the whole time. He doesn't let me do it too often anymore!)
I am so blessed to have the two best behaved kids ever... really.
Okay... that's enough.

Be glad of life, because it gives you the chance to love and to work and to play and to look up at the stars. -Henry Van Dyke

Happy A to Z Monday... and Happy Groundhog Day, too!

Happy D Day,
Great post and now I know more of who you are. :)
and I like your name= I like names that can't be changed into three other names, like Jennifer, Jenny and Jen. lol

Such a great post! I didn't like my name growing up either - but of course now I love it. (I cut my husband's hair with clippers, too - love it!)

Dawn is a GREAT name...the beginning of a brand new day...what could be better than that?! My scrapbooking is suffering, too, but mainly because my almost three year old makes it really hard to get anything done....not wishing the days away, though...just TRYING to be okay with working at a slower pace and having unfinished things all around me. My blog has quite a few almost-ready-to-post stories. I have to force myself to be okay with it...they will be up someday (like as soon as I get one of those can't-sleep-anyway-may-as-well-write kinda nights)!

Forgot to add...don't know the dates of the pictures, but you still look the same, and I LOVE the family picture on the beach! We've got to have one of those taken someday...I think that it's required if you live in Florida.

YES! let's celebrate D for Dawn!! I love this post - I, too, learned the hard way to learn to be me no matter if others always like it or not! good one!! any D for dessert is not a bad idea either!! :)

I love this...when I first woke up today and realized it was D day...I almost did Dawn myself. Really. But I was afraid of not doing you justice. You did it perfect...I love your name too...it is to you.
my scrapbooking is suffering also, do we need a support group?
I loved the empty bowls...saw it in the paper and looked like something I would love to have done also....maybe next year???
Hugs,
suz
